Weather Weather Everywhere!!

Welcome Back Everyone! I hope you are having lots of fun and learning new things every day! I get the most enjoyment out of starting an activity with my little friends and watching them turn it into an activity of their very own. That is exactly what happened today. I started out with pre drawn art starters for my friends (cloud shapes) and my friends where very excited to see the Paint, Tissue Paper, Glue and other supplies I had out for them.   I was amazed to watch some of them choose the blank paper and start to make their own cloud art.   Some left their art as a abstract piece of paper and others asked me to cut the edges into a cloud shape After their art was done! This is what some of them ended up looking like, I hope you love it as much as I did and make some of your very own! This activity was a great example of how to take one idea and stretch it across all Ages, Skill Levels and Creative Expressions. I love doing this kind of activity and watching the chi...

St Patricks Day Fun

Happy March Everyone!! I am excited to March is finally apon us, although spring is nowhere to be found. I am still excited to celebrate the coming of spring with my friends. I have a really cute activity that I want to share with you. This is the first of many for this month. I made Leprechaun Hat sun catchers. this was very simple and cute to do! I cut a hat from green paper and punched 3 holes spaced apart. Laced string through each hole and tied contact paper strips to each one. I let the children stick shapes and metallic objects on the strips. we used shapes found in lucky charms  cereal. If you would like to see a picture of the finished product, please head over to and like my facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/thecreativecampuspreschool  I post a lot of the things we do there, you will also find other tips and goodies there. if you like my page and send me a comment that you found me through this blog, I will send you all sorts of great free g...

Spring Into Action With Art!

Hello Everyone! It has been a crazy day around here! Snow, then sleet, Then Ice and now Thunder Storms as a Sit here Writing this! I am not going to be with my little friends today, but I wanted to share a fun idea with you anyway. This one is a "clean" art idea that is totally process. I want you to give your children contact paper if you have it. If not regular paper will work but it will just be normal art. give them squares of colored tissue paper and tell them they are going to make a flower, that if its on tissue paper will double as a sun catcher! they will probably need a little help with the first few pieces, I suggest you show them how to play the pieces flat so they stick. Then just let the kids have a good time sticking pieces on their contact paper till their done. now you can either give them a piece of green construction paper for a stem or you can let them make their own with the tissue as well! up to you. I really like this one and I am going to do this wit...

Splish Splash! We Were Havin A Blast!

Image
Happy Friday! Today I had such a wonderful time with my friends. In the spirit of Mother's Day all our activities were things we had mom do With us. We made mother's day flowers which turned out very cute. We went for minimal mess ( at least with our art work  )  today and the children had a blast. I believe in letting our friends use their own creative judgment , even if they are only 2. Some of our friends didn't want to add leaves ( their hand prints) to their flowers. I still think they turned out very cute. we just used old art work that was cut into squares. Tissue paper works great as well.   some of our friends chose to   press their paper out flat to make a different look. I think they all came out very cute.   Meanwhile over in our sensory area my friends were tired of playing with blocks and asked for bugs. so I decided to be a little gutsy and gave them all paint smocks that are water proof and let th...

Hello Everyone! I had a wonderful morning learning and playing with my friends today! I had the chance to have a wonderful conversation with some of their moms as well. I love getting to know such wonderful people. It's one of the best parts of being a teacher. Today in class, we talked about Rainbows. We made rainbows in play dough. In art we used textures and paint to make rainbows as well.  These are some fun activities you can re create at home with your little ones. You can even make jell -o and add spring themed items for your children to play with. If you have any fun activities that you have used at home, Please feel free to post them here!
