Good Morning Friend! As you may know, for the month of April we are talking about Animals. In keeping with this theme, I want to share a fun Small Motor activity with you. Today is a beautiful day to get outside and have some fun. Go outside and encourage your little friends to collect sticks rocks and all sorts of fun things. Then create a "Build an Animal" Game. Sort all the pieces into piles.... then give each pile an number. you can take turns either flipping over number cards or rolling a dice. Pick the piece from the number chosen, and add to your animal! Also Don't Forget! Every Friday I respond to your questions that I receive throughout the week. Hi!  Welcome To The First Ever Creative Campus Activity Challenge! This Month I shared some of my favorite ways to engage in learning about FARMS! Here are a few in case you missed them on my Fb Page (https://www.facebook.com/thecreativecampuspreschool/) One of my favorite things to do with kids of many different ages, is called "What Is It"? you can put food, Plants or even animals into a container. create descriptive questions, and starting with one question. Let the children feel the item without looking and guess what is inside. this is a great activity for Thinking skills and Sensory experiences 1) Animal Voices : Provide pictures of animals and play recordings on the noises they make. ask the children guess them correctly have them choose the correct animal from the pile till all are chosen. 2) Animal Match : Find Pictures of animals and their babies. display the pictures and allow children to take turns matching adults with their babies. 3) Life Size A...

Bears, and Snakes and Birds Oh My!  Animals is a fun theme that everyone gets into. I have to admit that brown bear is one of my favorite books. I have created a lot of fun activities around that book. I like to put out sand/dirt, hay and grass for the kids to play with.   then I give them a play barn with animals. this is a great way to combine sensory play and make believe play into one. I also love to play a game called "move like a".... and I call out different animals. its a great way to get the kids moving. I love to do art with this theme too. Some of my favorite things to do are: Making Snakes. You can do this several ways, Cut a small plate into a swirl and let the kids decorate it. OR you can cut strips of paper and trim the edges into the shape of a snake. (this is my favorite way). I give the kids paint dabbers and art pieces and let Their creativity run wild. Hi Everyone!  I just wanted to share with you a part of a new blog series I started, called 5 Activities. Each post will give 5 activities to use for a specific topic. I hope you enjoy these posts and I look forward to your comments! Science: Dino Bone Dig   I have use this one over the years. I have enjoyed doing this activity myself. you can find different types of bones or fossils and burry them in your sand table. give each child brushes or scoops to dig out each bone and build a creature. You can use the fossils (objects work too) and press them into playdough to make your own fossils. this is a fun hands on science activity that allows the children to learn about why some things fossilize and some don't. Grow Flowers or Plants. Provide seeds or already started plants. encourage the children to care for their plants daily.     I believe in the concept referred to in a quote by Lao- Tzu:" If you Tell me, I will Listen. If you Show me I will See, But If you let me Experience I will Learn"! That is the philosophy I have built my work around as well. I do believe that we are all different, we have different experiences and points of view and because of this we all also learn differently. this is why I believe that every child needs to be given learning and development experiences based on Their Skills, Needs( both educational and developmental) and Their Interests.  What are the things your children are always asking endless questions about?
